“Walk When the Moon is Full”

Wild Whatcom Walks is excited to introduce a new adult and family nature series, Walk When the Moon is Full.

Inspired by naturalist Frances Hammerstrom’s 1907 book by the same title, these free walks occur on or near the 13 full moons of the year.  Each walk will focus on a specific species of flora or fauna found in Whatcom County.  Led by trained local naturalists and educators, participants will explore Whatcom County at its wildest.  We will seek out the nocturnal creatures and wonders most people rarely see.  Come prepared to focus and train your senses as you learn how to become a true naturalist – a nature observer.  Through art, science, story, and silence we will discover what the nocturnal wilds of Whatcom County hold in story for us.
